WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN APPLYING:
PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW CAREFULLY!!
VERY IMPORTANT: Each individual who submits work to any Color Coded Media Group publication is provided with a fair and equal opportunity to be published in our journal. Incoming submissions/applications are reviewed, using very general criteria under a unique process that allows editors to collaborate consciously on appropriate selections.
Contracts for eBooks, AudioBooks, and Traditional Print Publications are offered on a case-by-case basis and depends on a variety of factors, including marketability, funding, content, and more. Selected submissions may be published online or published as stand-alone print, eBook, or AudioBook projects. Stand-alone projects require one of two agreements.
Hybrid Publishing Contract: Our most common contract. This offer is based on an initial contribution, to be paid by the author, to cover initial production of the work.
Traditional Publishing Contract: This is where no costs are incurred by the author and the whole cost for producing, publishing and marketing the work is covered by Color Coded Media Group.
Make sure you have read all the information and have become familiar with our publications and the artists/curators we are working with. Please note that it is crucial to consider the guest curator’s work as well as the publication’s previously published artworks before applying to make sure that this opportunity is in line with your expectations.
SELECTION OF WORKS AND NOTIFICATION OF RESULTS FOR COLLECTIONS:
Results for any themed call for submissions will be announced around three weeks after the official deadline of the call to ensure that our Guest Curators and Editorial Team have enough time to give their full attention to each applicant’s work. The process may take between a few days and three (3) weeks, maximum.
Results will be posted on the publication’s website as well as via social media (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook). Notification will be made at the predetermined date/time. All artists who provide a working email address will be notified personally via email.
If for any reason you did not receive an email from us – please get in touch with us asap through firstname.lastname@example.org or keep an eye on our website and social media as all the important announcements always appear online.
Frequently Asked Questions
“CAN I APPLY MULTIPLE TIMES?” or
IF YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN PUBLISHED IN ONE OR MORE OF OUR PREVIOUS ISSUES:
If you choose to submit again: we encourage artists who have been previously published to apply each time with completely new works or new body of works which were not used for previous applications/features.
“WHY WASN’T MY WORK SELECTED?” and “COULD YOU PLEASE PROVIDE ME WITH CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK AS TO WHY MY WORK WAS NOT SELECTED?”
Please note, our opportunities do not provide a guarantee that your new work will be accepted. We select work based purely on the quality factor as well as taking into account the competitive nature of the opportunity, guest curator’s work and previously published art in our magazines. Please be aware of the fact that we work each time with different curators who have different visions and approaches to selecting works. We work this way in order to make our publications versatile visual platforms that showcase carefully curated art. Make sure that the choice of the curator for a call is something that you are looking for when submitting work. Not all good work can be in line with each curator’s vision. Please also remember, the competitive nature of each of our calls is always a big factor and unfortunately we are unable to publish everyone who applies. We accept and publish all mediums but we do not restrict each selection to a mandatory inclusion of any particular medium.
Sadly, we cannot provide all submitted artists with constructive feedback/critique on why their work wasn’t selected as this is something that is beyond our physical working capacity and is a complex process in itself which requires very careful attention and time spent on constructing a specialised opinion. But if you have any questions on whether your submission was marked during the selection process or whether the curator left any notes on your application – please write us an email and we will be happy to provide any information we have.
If you have any specific questions please feel free to write us an email via email@example.com – we are happy to help!
